CALL FOR PROPOSALS: LOCAL SITE COORDINATOR/S
RHETORIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA
FOURTH BIENNIAL INSTITUTE, 2011
The Rhetoric Society of America seeks nominations and self-nominations to serve as Local Site Coordinator/s for the Fourth Biennial Institute in the spring of 2011.
Kent State University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted the 2005 and 2007 Institutes, respectively, and the 2009 meeting will be held at Penn State University. The content and format of the 2011 Institute will be planned by the Institute Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will work closely with the Local Site Coordinator/s on logistics, including the establishment of dates for the Institute. RSA events traditionally take place in May, although the 2007 Institute convened in June.
Complete proposals should include identification of the individual/s who will serve as primary contact/s with the Steering Committee; indication of the specific site/s that would accommodate 150-200 participants in plenary sessions and smaller break-out groups over several days; an explanation of the resources. faculty and student volunteers, institutional support, etc.. that would commend the prospective Local Site Coordinator/s as a strong partner for the Steering Committee.
Proposals should be submitted electronically to David Henry, RSA Executive Director, by January 25, 2008: firstname.lastname@example.org. The Site Selection Committee will review the proposals and make recommendations to the RSA Board of Directors during the Board's spring meetings.
